You will experience a stay steeped in history and art. On the hills of the Piana di Lucca, noble families had sumptuous country Villas built, which they used as summer residences with adjoining Italian gardens. You will visit Villa Reale and Villa Torrigiani, two of the most representative historic residences in the countryside of Lucca. During your stay, you cannot miss a visit to the city of Lucca with its tree-lined Renaissance Walls which completely surround it, medieval streets lined with towers and stores, and Romanesque churches alternating with bright squares.

Itinerary
Day 1
Check-in at the farmhouse and then departure for Lucca where you will meet an expert guide who will take you on a tour of the Walls of Lucca. The Walls of Lucca represent a unique reality in the panorama of European architecture and urban planning. Built during the Renaissance period, they are now one of the greatest examples of Italian fortifications of the time, There is also a large 96-hectare totally pedestrian-only public park that surrounds and defines the historic center. The tree-lined promenade is 4.2 kilometers long and can be walked, jogged or cycled. During this tour, you will venture on a path developed partly above the walls and partly below - discovering the interiors of some of the bastions restored thanks to the City of Lucca and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca.
Visiting them is like entering the "bowels" of the Walls of Lucca.  Although, never actually used for defensive purposes you will discover the immense and spectacular brick vaults of the galleries, built with the main purpose of hiding the heavy bronze cannons, and understand the evolution of military engineering in Italy from the 13th to the 17th century.
Return to the farmhouse and dinner.

Day 2
Breakfast at the farmhouse and depart for a tour of Lucca's splendid villas, which boast a unique architectural style and beautiful, majestic gardens reminiscent of those at Versailles.
You will visit Villa Reale and Villa Torrigiani, some of the most representative of these buildings. You will take a journey through their history learn of their daily life, joys, sorrows and mysteries.
Between visiting one villa and another, you will enjoy lunch at a typical restaurant in the area.
Return to the farmhouse.
